MALZ is a craftbeer bar & kiosk in the center of Leuven. With our 12 beers on draft & a selection of 500 beers in bottles & cans we're one of the beer hotspots the city has to offer.

Since opening MALZ, we received a medal in the category "best beer bar in Belgium" at the Beer Awards Digital Festival every year (silver in 2022, gold in 2023 & bronze in 2024, 2025 & 2026).

The focus of MALZ is craftbeer from all over the world: small & independent breweries making their own beers. We've got the largest selection of fine ciders & meads in town.

MALZ is both a bar & a kiosk. Experience our large selection in our modern but cosy bar or enjoy some drinks on our quiet terrace.
No time to hang around? Or looking for a delicious present? We've got you covered! Take a look in our fridges or on the shelves against the windows. Everything on our menu is ready to be served or to take home. We use discounted prices for take-away.

Be aware MALZ is a cashless bar. We accept bancontact, visa, mastercard, sodexo & edenred. We prefer you paying with card, phone or payconiq, but will accept cash whenever necessary.

We always have a selection of PÕHJALA beers, both in bottles/cans as on tap.

We serve PILS 13 - the best Belgian pilsner - & LONDON BLACK - the best English nitro porter - permanently on tap. We always have a (changing) beer from DOK BREWING CO. & BRASSERIE DE LA SENNE on tap.

There's always at least one Fine Cider on tap, from superb Belgian or European makers. And you can always find a still lambic from BROUWERIJ OUD BEERSEL on our taplist

We work together with local importer GOBSMACK to bring you the best beers from Garage Beer Co, De Kromme Haring, Oso Brew Co, To Øl, Varvar, Anspach & Hobday, etc. You'll find everything their "SHOP IN SHOP": the yellow fridge.

Our other fridges are full of interesting local, Belgian & international beers & ciders. We super proud of our large selection Oude Geuze & fruit lambics, especially of our very own OUDE GEUZE DE VRIJSCHUTTER.

Our small food menu is tailored to accompany our beers & ciders. We work together with local butcher OX; we offer wonderful Belgian cheeses via cheese affineurs VAN TRICHT; & we serve beer patés from VEURN' AMBACHTSE.
You can enjoy locally made hummus (CHICK'O PEAS), the best Italian olives & superb Portuguese canned fish.
